Session 1 · 1 John 1–5
Walk in the light. Love the brothers. Test the spirits.
- John declares the word of life so that joy may be complete, and if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us.
- Christ is the advocate and the propitiation, the one who says he knows God must keep His commandments, and the world with its desires is passing away.
- The children of God and the children of the devil are told apart by righteousness and love, and God's love abides in the one who loves in deed and truth.
- Test the spirits, for every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and we love because He first loved us.
- Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and John writes so that they may know they have eternal life.
