Session 1 · Micah 1–5
Samaria falls, and a ruler comes from Bethlehem.
- The LORD comes from his holy temple in witness against Samaria and Jerusalem, and the high places and idols are doomed.
- Woe falls on those who plot evil on their beds and covet fields, yet a remnant will be gathered like sheep in a fold.
- Rulers tear the people, prophets divine for money, and Zion will be plowed as a field because of their injustice.
- In the latter days the mountain of the LORD is lifted, nations stream to it, and swords are beaten into plowshares.
- From Bethlehem comes a ruler whose origins are from of old, who will shepherd in the strength of the LORD and be their peace.
Session 2 · Micah 6–7
God requires justice, and he delights to pardon.
- The LORD brings a case before the mountains, recalls the exodus, and requires justice, mercy, and a humble walk with him.
- The city is corrupt and the prophet waits for God, who will pardon and cast sins into the depths of the sea.
